Many Indiana University online services use Adobe Flash Player; interacting with these services may require you to enable or alter Flash settings in your browser.
Enabling Flash may open your computer to security vulnerabilities. UITS encourages you to enable Flash only when necessary, and to use your browser's exception lists to selectively allow Flash whenever possible. For more about known security vulnerabilities and best computing practices, visit Protect IU.
Apple and Flash never much cared for each other. IOS has always been a no-Flash operating system and macOS, formerly OS X, has omitted the Adobe plug-in since 2010, when Cupertino first told users. End-users can view Flash content via Flash Player (for web browsers), AIR (for desktop or mobile apps) or third-party players such as Scaleform (for video games). Adobe Flash Player (supported on Microsoft Windows, macOS and Linux) enables end-users to view Flash content using web browsers.
